ZIP Extractor® is a free web app for opening and creating ZIP files. It runs entirely in your browser - there is nothing to install - and works with files from your computer, Google Drive, and Gmail. ZIP Extractor supports ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, TAR.GZ, TAR.BZ2, TAR.XZ, and many other archive formats.
ZIP Extractor is designed with privacy in mind. All file processing happens locally in your browser. The contents of your archives are never uploaded to a ZIP Extractor server.
ZIP Extractor is a product of Visware, a small independent software company based in Boulder, Colorado. Visware was founded in 2006 and focuses on building simple, private, browser-based productivity tools. You can learn more about Visware at visware.com.
ZIP Extractor is built and maintained by its Founder and Principal Engineer. The small-team approach allows us to focus on product quality, privacy, and responsiveness to user feedback.
ZIP Extractor is a web app, not a download. Everything happens in your browser: opening archives, decompressing files, previewing content, and creating new ZIPs. Your files are never uploaded to a ZIP Extractor server - we have no server to upload them to.
When you use ZIP Extractor with Google Drive or Gmail, we use Google's official APIs to read the archive you selected and to save results back to your Drive account. The archive contents themselves pass through your browser only.
